The Saxon Textile Research Institute e.V. (STFI) was accredited by the French Ministry of Education and Research on 11/10/2018 for the French measure "Tax Credit Research" (Crédit d'Impôt Recherche, CIR). With accreditation for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, the STFI is recognized as an innovative research service provider for companies in France. The CIR measure will allow eligible French customers who use the research services of the Saxon Textile Research Institute and are subject to corporation tax in France to claim tax relief of up to 30% on their research and development expenses.

The French government is aiming to promote research and innovation in its own country through the Crédit d'Impôt Recherche (CIR) tax credit. The purpose of the tax relief is to increase competitiveness and in particular to support small and medium-sized enterprises in their research projects. The CIR system has been one of the main promotional tools in France since 2008.
