On an area of over 1,500 m², the Centre for Textile Lightweight Engineering combines traditional textile technology with innovative plant concepts for the production of fibre composites. The plant technology, operating on a semi-industrial scale, enables both small-scale pilot trials and the production of small batches. The systems installed in the research and testing facility are networked via a process control system, enabling comprehensive data collection and analysis. By combining this with recorded consumption data – such as electricity, gas and compressed air usage – as well as environmental conditions, it is possible to carry out ecological and economic assessments of the developments.
