Nonwovens

The Centre of Excellence in Nonwovens acts as a point of contact for scientific enquiries relating to hygiene, filtration and the automotive sector. In addition to its existing expertise in nonwovens, the STFI is distinguished above all by an impressive range of facilities that is unique in Europe.

Recycling

As a leader in non-woven fabrics and mechanical recycling, we are at the forefront of transforming the circular economy, particularly in the recycling of high-performance fibres. STFI possesses the necessary research and development expertise, as well as the appropriate plant technology, to develop processing and recovery concepts and put them into practice as proof of concept.

Fibres and Yarns

The Fibres and Yarns technology division focuses on the systematic development of materials and the in-process quality assessment of natural fibres, particularly those of plant origin.

Textile Lightweight engineering

In fibre composites, we give valuable fibres a new lease of life through mechanical recycling. The development of semi-finished textile products as a basis for various polymer composite solutions has always been a key focus of our work and is a particular area of expertise within textile lightweight engineering.

Technical woven and knitted fabrics
