Digitisation and AI
Digitalisation is permeating the entire textile value chain, from development through to production. Artificial intelligence, connected systems and autonomous processes are no longer just topics for the future, but crucial competitive factors. We support companies in testing, developing and profitably deploying these technologies in a practical manner.
In the field of robotics and intelligent automation, we are working on collaborative robot systems with adaptive gripping solutions for textile materials, AI-supported quality inspection and autonomous production processes. Driverless transport systems and intelligent process monitoring complete the portfolio.
Digital connected production encompasses the end-to-end digitalisation of manufacturing processes, production planning across the value chain, and the use of wireless communication for identification and batch tracking. Customised manufacturing using 2D and 3D printing as well as laser systems is implemented in a practical manner.
In virtual development, 3D design processes, simulations of automation workflows and machine learning models for predicting textile properties are created – for faster development cycles and greater efficiency.
Knowledge management focuses on AI-based knowledge transfer, training concepts and mobile assistance systems. Continuous data analysis enables predictive maintenance and intelligent decision support. The research and testing facility at STFI offers companies a practical testing environment in which to develop, validate and successfully implement digitalisation projects.
