Optimierung des Stadtklimas: Nachhaltige Begrünungsinsel durch die Verbindung von Gradierwerk, vertikaler Begrünung und energetischer Autarkie

The overall concept of the self-sustaining green island is based on the synergistic combination of graduation towers – known for naturally enriching the air with moisture – and vertical greening, which enables effective optimisation of space. This combination is intended not only to improve the aesthetic quality of the urban landscape, but also to significantly enhance air quality. The creation of microclimatic zones through the strategic placement of these greening elements helps to optimise local temperature and humidity regulation. A key element of this research project is the implementation of a closed-loop irrigation system based on sustainable principles. This involves integrating innovative technologies such as rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling and sensor-controlled irrigation systems to minimise water consumption whilst maximising the efficiency of the green space. These strategies not only contribute to resource-efficient water use but also promote the system’s self-regulatory capabilities.
