Concept for combining wool washing, plant fibre digestion and a biogas plant

Given their process characteristics, wool washing and the wet digestion of bast fibres were investigated with regard to their synergistic effects with biogas plants. Both process technologies require energy and produce wastewater containing organic matter. The studies carried out provide baseline data for planning the combination of both processes with a suitable biogas plant. This creates the conditions for investment decisions regarding the processing of agricultural products, aimed at increasing value creation close to the point of production.
