STFI webTalks
In August 2020, the Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. has established STFI webTalks – an online format providing insight into selected topics of the institute and supplying information on current research activities. This programme will be broadcasted regularly.
We also want to invite viewers to interact with our experts and identify further research potential in joint dialogue.
All episodes of our STFI webTalks will be held in German!

Review: futureTEX – Future model for the textile industry
futureTEX is an interdisciplinary competence network of industry and research partners. It supports the transformation of the tradition-rich textile industry in the age of digitalisation into a sustainable industrial player with technical textiles (TechTex) as its foundation.
At the end of last year, the project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the "Twenty20 – Partnership for Innovation" programme came to an end. Since its launch in 2014, more than 30 research projects have been set up to make a decisive contribution to the transformation from the traditional textile industry to the TechTex industry in Germany.
In this episode, our colleague Dirk Zschenderlein, Head of Intelligent Production Systems, Modelling and Process Management at STFI, introduces the research project and provides information about its beginnings and important milestones. And at the end is the question: What remains? We will conclude with an outlook and what influence futureTEX will have on future projects.
