The STFI's second Akademie breakfast will take place on 14 May 2024 in Chemnitz. This event will serve as an open industry exchange on the topics of recruiting and qualifying skilled workers.

The shortage of skilled labour is challenging our society. The textile industry, like other industries, must take appropriate measures to maintain its performance. The STFI's second Akadmemie breakfast enables industry representatives to have an open exchange on how to reach the next generation in a sustainable way. The event will also address the question of how how textile professions can be made more attractive to the young skilled workers of tomorrow?

School leavers alone cannot fully cover the demand, so a second solution is aimed at career changers. The event will therefore also discuss the following questions how these workers with different prior knowledge can be qualified, which regulatory aspects need to be taken into account and where companies can obtain support.

This event offers the opportunity to talk to the STFI Akadmemie team as well as contacts from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Employment Agency in order to discuss opportunities for tomorrow's highly qualified specialists. Following the keynote speeches, the doors of the STFI's technical centres and laboratories will be open to visitors this morning.
