EDANA Innovation Forum 2024
Defining the future for nonwovens innovation – Under this guiding principle, experts from the nonwovens industry met in Munich from 4 to 6 June 2024 for the EDANA Innovation Forum. Together, they discussed groundbreaking innovations and thus shaped the future of this innovative industry. The aim was to present and discuss ideas and innovations in all areas of nonwovens applications.
For the first time, the Nonwovens Innovation Academy (NIA) and the International Nonwovens Symposium (INS) were combined into one forum to bring together a diverse group of academics, start-ups, researchers, scientists and nonwovens experts from various fields. Over 100 participants met at the smartvillage Bogenhausen in Munich to network and experience inspiring specialist presentations and workshops. The networking evening in the unique M'Uniqo Rooftop Bar with a 360° view over the city, where creative cooperation approaches were discussed in a cozy atmosphere, was also particularly successful.
In addition to varied presentations on innovative products, materials and technologies, experiences in the long-term management of innovations were presented. Key issues such as the integration of innovation, sustainability and market insights were discussed in detail in roundtable discussions. The EDANA Innovation Forum concluded at Urban Colab in Munich, a state-of-the-art co-working space. Discussions were stimulated in several pitches. Various innovation approaches were presented, with particular emphasis on the importance of the circular economy and open innovation approaches. Three start-ups took the opportunity to present their innovations: Noxon GmbH produces a wearable textile-based bionic sensor technology. Planet Smart is developing a 100% biodegradable and bio-based superabsorbent polymer. Mewalii presented the world's first cotton-free hemp pads for use in feminine hygiene products.
We would like to thank EDANA for the successful, inspiring forum in top locations with an outstanding all-round program and all the participants, sponsors and speakers who filled this event with exciting content.
We look forward to the next forum in June 2025!
