EU project BIONANOPOLYS seeks fresh ideas for bionanomaterials
As part of the EU project BIONANOPOLYS, an innovation platform consisting of an OPEN INNOVATION TEST BED (OITB) with 14 modernised pilot plants and complementary services to support technological and economic activities is being developed. STFI is project partner and joins the OITB with a meltblown nonwoven plant and a fibre nonwoven plant. The aim is to produce innovative nano-products from sustainably obtained raw materials for packaging and textiles as well as for the agricultural, cosmetics, pharmaceutical or food sectors.
European project partners under the leadership of the Spanish coordinator ITENE will present the possibilities and services of the innovation platform in a virtual event. The free event will take place as an online event on 17 February 2023 from 11am to 12.30pm. At this event, an open call for project proposals will be published in which bionanomaterials can be developed, tested or scaled up. Research and industry partners can submit their proposals until 30 April 2023. The innovative ideas submitted must be related to bionanomaterials. The application modalities will be presented in detail. All proposals received will be evaluated according to the criteria described in the Guide for Applicants. A maximum of five projects from companies, universities or specialised research centres will be selected from all the proposals received. These projects will be funded by the European Union through the project partners and will have free access to the BIONANOPOLYS-OITB for a limited period of time to develop bio-based materials or validate the materials produced in-house.
