From idea to transfer
Hof Nonwovens Days and Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference
The STFI on site with stand and exciting project presentations
The successful 61st Global Fiber Congress in Dornbirn, at which our long-standing Executive Director and Chairman of the Board Prof. Fuchs was honoured with the Life Time Award, was followed by the 35th Hof Nonwovens Days and the Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference. The STFI also presented itself at both events with an own stand and presentations on the Institute's projects.
Hof Nonwovens Days take place for the 35th time
More than 380 participants and 76 exhibitors did not want to miss the 35th Hof Nonwovens Days. Discussions, project talks, but also very personal meetings were on the agenda in the Freiheitshalle in Hof. The technical lectures on both days covered a diverse spectrum of information. Renowned national and international speakers from industry and research presented their results and were available to the participants for interesting discussions both during their lectures and at the exhibition stands. Thomas Pfaff from STFI and Dr.-Ing. Enrico Putzke, Institute for Materials Science (ifm) at Hof University of Applied Sciences, gave a lecture on the processing of recycled high-performance fibres into organic sheets, while at the same time developing a teaching and training concept. On the one hand, the technical basics as well as potentials and applications (such as SmartWatch, AR application, intelligent maintenance, anticipatory plant control) were presented, as well as the knowledge transfer via the training concept into the economy.
The next Hof Nonwovens Days will take place for the 36th time next year and are planned for 8 and 9 November 2023.
Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference presents itself anew
After postponements due to corona, the traditional Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference presented itself in its 17th edition on 28 and 29 September 2022 with new concept and design. In parallel series of lectures with a total of 38 contributions, topics from the areas of resource-efficient and sustainable processes, textile technologies for lightweight construction, digitalisation in textile production and additive manufacturing with fibres and textiles were presented and discussed with the interested audience. In addition, the event offered short pitches on interesting research and development projects from science and industry. The event provided a vivid framework for networking and exciting discussions.
Over 100 participants contributed to the success of the conference. Numerous contacts were made and new ideas developed.
The STFI as co-organiser of the conference was present with the following lectures:
- DigiTexPro I Tobias Richter
- SelVliesPro I Thomas Pfaff
- UV-FlexTEX – UV-LED-vernetzbare flexible und dehnbare Beschichtungen für Technische Textilien I Dr. Ralf Lungwitz
- Biogenic Heavy Tows based on hemp bast bark for textile lightweight products I Elke Thiele
- HYPER – Orientierte Carbonfaserstrukturen aus Luftfahrt-Produktionsabfällen zum Wiedereinsatz im Flugzeug I Ina Sigmund
The next Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference will take place in 2024.
