The desizing of textile reinforcement structures, e.g. made of carbon fibres, is necessary to remove disruptive sizes from the fibres and improve the fibre-matrix bond. The ebeam process has been further developed, in which accelerated high-energy electrons strike the surface of textile fabrics and destroy adhering sizes.

Customer interest in individual, tailored textiles for neurodermatitis is growing. Manufacturers are aiming to combine customer requirements with data preparation for production planning using configuration. The STFI is now presenting such a model for targeted neurodermatitis applications.

Methods have been developed to apply and integrate strain-stiffening structures into ankle bandages or stockings, providing both stability and mobility.

On 14 and 15 January 2026, the partners of the EU project PESCO-UP met in the European capital Brussels. The project partners from ten European countries presented their research results and set the milestones for the project for 2026. Dr Anna Große and Romy Naumann were there.
