On 18 October 2023, the review meeting for the EU project "MC4 - Multi-level Circular Process Chain for Carbon and Glass Fibre Composites" (duration 04/2022 to 03/2025) took place at the Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. (STFI). In addition to representatives of the 16 project partners from 9 European countries, the responsible project officer and a reviewer appointed by the EU Commission also took part. The results of the last 18 project months were explained in detailed presentations and vividly complemented by numerous demonstrators made of recycled glass and carbon fibres. The presentation was rounded off with a lab tour through the Center for Textile Lightweight Engineering at the STFI, where the recycling cycle of production waste from carbon fibres (CFs) and  their processing by means of nonwoven formation as well as the production of composites were shown as a practical example. The project status and the achieved results received a positive assessment from the EU representatives. For further project activities, the focus is among other things on the chemical recycling of CFs and their further utilisation.
