Within the scope of the project, efforts were focused on developing and integrating electrically conductive materials into elastic textiles. On 15 and 16 May 2024, the General Assembly of the EU project Bionanopolys (Open Innovation Test Bed For Developing Safe Nano-Enabled Bio-Based Materials) took place in Cornella de Llobgregat (Spain). The project partners from eleven European countries presented their research results and set the milestones for the coming months until the end of the project in December 2024.

On 14 May 2024, the STFI hosted the second Akademie Breakfast, an open industry exchange on the topics of recruiting and qualifying skilled workers. The STFI Akademie Breakfast once again brought together textile entrepreneurs, both the Employment Agency and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as well as trainers from the STFI Akademie at a lavishly laid breakfast table. 45 participants accepted the invitation to Chemnitz.

Under the motto "Shifting the Limits", Techtextil and Texprocess took place from 23 to 26 April 2024 at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. 38,000 visitors came to the industry's most important international marketplace to find out about product innovations along the textile value chain. Under the new motto "Fascination Textile", STFI presented the results and demonstrators of research and development work for tomorrow's high-end textile products and solutions.

Green snowboards from silbaerg combine natural fibres with in-house recycled materials adapting extremely flexible to different riding situations. Since 2011, the company silbaerg from Chemnitz has been producing high-quality snowboards, which are manufactured by using the patented A.L.D.tech^®. The latest product line of green snowboards has now been honoured with the JEC Innovation Award 2024 in Paris.
