In Cooperation with Alpha Sigma GmbH a first demonstrator was developed. This demonstrator shows the possibility of processing basalt nonwovens (from the STFI) by using resin injection. The nonwovens were laid dry into the mold (red cavity) and vacuum is applied before the resin is introduced.

If the vacuum is achieved, the resin impregnates the semi-finished product (nonwoven) completely.

The demonstrator shows on one hand the draping behavior of nonwovens, on the other hand the flow rating of the resin.
